Cultivating a practice that brings about a fully embodied and cohesive sense of being is key for the depths of yoga to unfold. Kia’s teaching integrates the practice & techniques of Ashtanga Yoga with Pranayama, Meditation & Philosophy. Including multiple aspects and perspectives allows us to grow a transformational yet sustainable practice rooted in personal experience. This Intensive is designed for all practitioners looking to deepen their understanding of yoga as a whole, involving all layers – body, breath and mind.

Friday :   

Ashtanga Yoga Master Class – Practice, Principles & Philosophy  –  6:00am

Friday Morning (2h30)

Kia will share experiences and insights for developing a deeper perception of Ashtanga Yoga as a practice for our entire being – body, breath and mind. We will journey through key elements with an explorative mindset, looking at common energetic principles, actions & alignment details to help cultivate a transformational yet sustainable practice in rooted in yogic principles. Ultimately growing an understanding for Asana not only as a physical practice but as an Anusthan, a way of being, a state of mind. 

This profoundly comprehensive session will open new dimensions in our practice and understanding that we will continue to explore in the Mysore practices that follows.

 

– Workshop – 16:00-17:30

Pranayama & Kriyas – practice, techniques and philosophy.

Where: usyoga

Drawing from traditional Yogic and Buddhist teachings, Kia will share reflections and insights, and guides us through classical Pranayamas in the lineage of Kaivalyadham. We deepen our appreciation for the subtleties of breath and its significance in yogic practices and philosophy. 

New students will be introduced to traditional teachings of Pranayama & Kriyas, whilst those with more experience will grow their practice and understanding. 


Saturday :   

Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Style – Assisted Self Practice – 8:00am

Shanti Patha, Meditation & Mysore Practice

 

We open with traditional Peace Prayer and a guided meditation to align body, heart and mind.

Kia will bring us through the first standing postures together to set a common intention, before continuing into self practice at your own rhythm.

These sessions allow for your personal practice process to unfold, while receiving individual guidance from Kia to further deepen your experience. With a sincere dedication to the growth and development of each of her students, she offers an including, safe and inspiring space open for personal exploration, inquiry and transformation. 

All levels welcome but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self-Practice.

Satsang means exploring truth in the gathering of ones spiritual community, Sangha. This last afternoon-session of our workshop, Kia will guide us through a healing meditation practice, and offer space for Satsang – discussion and inquiries around the practice and philosophy of yoga.

Kia Naddermier – Personal Biography


Kia Naddermier has more than 25 years of experience of Ashtanga Yoga. She is an international teacher and founder of Mysore Yoga Paris, a global Ashtanga Yoga community dedicated to a holistic, multi-layered approach to practice. She mentors teachers and gives trainings, workshops and retreats internationally. 

Kia is a highly skilled and compassionate Pranayama teacher certified to teach at the highest level within the Kavalyadham lineage. 

Being a devoted meditation practitioner, her teaching draws extensively from traditional Buddhist teachings of Mindfulness and Loving Kindness. 

With a genuine dedication to the growth and development of her students, Kia offers a non-dogmatic, inclusive and creative space open for personal exploration and inquiry. Her deep love and years of profound study and research into all aspects of practice, shines through in her warm, insightful and inspirational teaching.

She is the co-creator of the much appreciated podcast Mysore Yoga Paris – Closer Together offering free practice resources available for all.
